What a way to start the year! Today was a day that will go down in history for the start of one of the biggest snowfalls ever to hit the DC area (over 3 feet). In the middle of this winter wonderland, was a small church, in that small church was a wedding with just the bride and groom and one guest, on their faces were some of the biggest smiles I have ever seen. So intimate, so powerful and so beautiful. Then after this small and intimate ceremony for some odd reason the bride and groom trusted me to take them out into the blizzard and run around in the snow! Their faces would go from these beautiful happy expressions of love to that of “I want to kill this photographer for talking us into outdoor snow portraits”. It was pretty funny! A big thanks to Astrid for all her awesomeness and for running around in the snow to get these great pictures. Another thanks to Ruth and Ken for being such awesome sports! I am very happy with the results!

Beautiful work, Kristi! I can just feel the intimacy of the day through your images. And I have to admit that I am totally jealous that you could be that close during the ceremony! The last one is my favorite…love the spontaneous laughter!
