Ceresville Manor, Maryland

Katie and Scott had such a beautiful wedding. I loved the colors (orange, red, and silver), the weather was just beautiful, and the venue was totally my type of venue. Ceresville Mansion is a stunning little mansion with a beautiful outdoor courtyard with a lily pond right in front of the spot Katie and Scott were married. Katie and her bridesmaids rocked there custom converse, and Scott looked stunning with his Ascot and styling suite. I had a blast, thank you again Michelle Lindsay for having me shoot with you! Bridget & Jason
November 7th, 2009
Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park
St. Joseph Monastery Parish

It’s hard to find a place to start with Bridget and Jason’s beautiful wedding! It was very exciting to me, because it was my first Baltimore wedding, and wow, it had Baltimore written all over it! The reception took place at the Fredrick Douglas-Isaac Myers Maritime park right on the water at Fells Point Baltimore. There were amazing crab cakes, oh and the church was so sublime (it looked like it was taken right out of the streets of London). The wedding had little touches of Bridget all over, from her short dress, to her beautiful black pearl ring.

A few days before the wedding I got an e-mail from Bridget saying “does your husband want to come to the concert” (have I ever mentioned how much I love my brides)? It was the first time I had a bride refer to their reception as a concert! How cool is that? And wow, what a concert! Bridget had the best 80′s band ever playing, they call themselves The Legwarmers. There was a moment when I looked over to the Mother of the Bride and saw her rocking down Egyptian style to “Walk like an Egyptian”. It was kind of surreal, and at the same time completely amazing! I thought Thu might lose it when they played one of her favorite songs as the final song of the night, Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey (in which she may have sang the whole car ride home).

A big thank you to Thu for flying up to second shoot for me. Once again, amazing pictures!

It was such a pleasure to be able to photograph not only a wonderful (and stunning) couple, but this crazy unique wedding/concert! Thu and I had a blast!

Anne & Jeff
October 17th, 2009
Highlands, North Carolina
The Bascom Arts Center
First Presbyterian Church

Anne and Jeff were married in the beautiful Highlands of North Carolina! We had quite the adventure at their wedding. I had the pleasure of having Catrina (photographer extraordinaire) of Catmax studios shoot along side me. We showed up to our hotel only to be warned about the bears that tend to hang out outside our room. Catrina’s eyes got real wide, and she replied “are they friendly bears?” I lost it laughing. We opened our blinds on the wedding day to see snow!! Snow in October! So we headed out, checked for bears, bundled up (I think Catrina might have had 8 layers on), and were off to shoot Anne and Jeff’s wedding.

When we arrived at the church, both our mouths dropped! It was this small, beautiful mountain church. Anne and Jeff had filled it door to door with so many smiling happy guests. Anne was stunning, she walked down the aisle and her face just lite up when she approached Jeff. There was one moment during the ceremony where she just leaned her head on his shoulder and just smiled!

The reception site was crazy beautiful! Brand new (Anne was the first wedding to take place there) yet designed to look old and rustic. Stone floors, art work, little rock sculptures out front, and above the door was a big A and J made from sticks. It was a perfect mountain wedding, bears, snow and all!

Hurricane Shoals Park
October 24th, 2009

Shaundra & Ben’s wedding was photographed my by amazing second shooter and assistant manager Thu Tran. This was her first wedding to be fully in charge of and it was a great wedding. I did head down for a few hours to help assist my assistant of the last 3 years and took the following pictures for her.

I met Shaundra a while back to talk about her wedding. She was all so lite up everytime she talked about Ben or the wedding, her childlike smile is very endearing and hardly left her face. They picked the beautiful Hurricane Shoals Park for their intimate and small wedding. All around the ceremony were these beautiful trees all showing their fall colors, on the side of the reception site ran a waterfall. The whole wedding day, Shaundra had her smile, and surprisingly Ben had a very similar and large childlike smile. Not only was it amazing to see the love between Shaundra and Ben but it was so peaceful to be surrounded by such amazing nature. It made me happy!

Gabby & Ben
It is really how first impressions work. I just met Gabby and Ben a week ago and I remember thinking “wow this couple is brilliant”. They are both kind of quiet and crazy smart. They have both accomplished so much in life. I was a little worried that they would be very professional and kind of stiff with being photographed, boy was I wrong! Right when I pulled out my camera they were as comfortable, running around and having fun! For the first few locations I don’t even feel like I gave a lot of direction, I took my camera out and was like, just keep doing what you are doing. We ran around downtown DC, the capital (did I mention that Gabby used to work there-see brilliant), amongst the fall trees, and the fish market. I think that my favorite moment was when I said “I have an idea but it involves you guys jumping into the leave pile”. Ben smiled back and said “I was thinking the same thing”. Whoever says you can’t have it all needs to meet Gabby and Ben. Not only are they incredibly inspirational, but they are crazy fun, and full of love! Thank you guys for all the time and the wonderful run around DC.
