I had so much fun with Kathryn & Joe last week during their engagement session. They are just such free spirits and a big breath of fresh air! It was one of those engagement session in which I felt more lively and cheerful after leaving because of how much fun they are to just be around! It was my first engagement session in which I had my awesome second shooter along side me. So thank you Thu for coming out, sharing ideas and rolling around in the grass with all of us! We spent the afternoon running around Piedmont Park, and with the fall colors and sunset, it was perfect! So thanks again Kathryn and Joe for you awesomeness (and you two, Thu)!

Jenny & Lawrence
I am so excited about Sunday! That’s right these two beautiful people are tying the knot in 3 days! We met yesterday to do their engagement session and had so much fun. I had such a great time that I hung around the couple for an hour or so after the shoot over an amazing dinner (great steak, and awesome lemonade). Jenny and Lawrence are such great people and really did have fun with the engagement shoot. We went and visited a very large lake in Georgia and ran around for a while. I really enjoyed watching the sunset over the water at the end of the shoot. It was an absolutely perfect day, beautiful weather, and beautiful colors. Lawrence may have come out with a few red bumps from all the misquotes, but at least he didn’t come out black and blue like he did from his bachelor party (in which he still has scars)! I will see you guys very soon!

Megan & Dan
Monday, October 19th, 2009I am so happy to have now done my first DC wedding! After being a crazy women and traveling to and from Atlanta all year (amongst other places around the world), it was great to come home to my husband and dog after a wedding. Pizza waiting and all. A big thanks to Kelsey for letting me second shoot with her. Kelsey (kthompsonphotography.blogspot.com) is an awesome photographer and we had so much fun shooting together. She kept me laughing and smiling throughout the whole shoot.
The wedding was beautiful! We moved back and forth to so many different spots, but it was all good. It felt like a limo tour of DC. There were so many protesters around, it was kind of amusing. We started off at the Hotel George for the hair and make up, then off to the Enid A. Haupt Garden behind the Smithsonian Institute, next was the church, then finally the Daughters of the American Revolution building for the reception (aka DAR). I love DAR, it was so perfect for my first DC wedding. It has the feel of a DC monument with tall columns and history, it also has a great view of the George Washington memorial (which is where Megan was proposed to). It was the perfect evening for such a wonderful couple to get married. Thanks again to Kelsey, you rock girl!

Gail & Andrew
Oct 3rd, 2009
Decatur First United Methodist Church
Decatur Courthouse
I remember when I first met Gail and Andrew. Thu and I were standing inside Taqueria del Sol (best tacos ever) looking around at all the couples wondering which couple we were scheduled to meet. Gail and Andrew were both standing outside the restaurant in a tight embrace, kissing, and smiling like there was nothing else going on in the world. I turned to Thu and said, I really hope that is our couple! We sat down over some Tacos and talked about the wedding. Gail and Andrew are both so fun, original, totally in love, and both with a little nerdy side. Totally my type of couple! A few weeks before the wedding we met again and Andrew told me stories of his bachelor party at DragonCon (the worlds largest fantasy and sci-fi convention). He and his groomsmen had all dressed up as the jokers crew from the most recent Batman and basically ran amok!
The wedding day was so much fun! Gail had a lot of her friends and family fly over from Jamiaca and wow those guys know how to party. Andrew teared up within a couple minutes of entering the church. I had never actually seen this side of Andrew before, but he kept talking about how he was about to marry the most amazing women. Gail looked so stunning. She has beautiful eyes that were lit up. When she walked down the asle, Andrew looked away from Gail and back and forth from left to right. He was trying to hold it together, but as soon as his eyes caught her, they couldn’t contain the tears anymore. Like I said before, so in love!
The DJ really rocked it, and I think pretty much everybody (including Thu and I) were out on the dance floor. The music was so awesome that it was hard not to dance a little while shooting. I was actually pretty sad when the night came to an end, it was just so much fun. Thank you guys for having me there to capture such an unbelievable wedding and thank you Thu for your awesome company and photography!

Courtney & Ryan
I had so much fun running around Old Town, Alenxandria yesterday with Courtney and Ryan! Such a fun couple. They were so easy to shoot and just fun be around. Within a few minutes of the session Courtney was jumping up on Ryan and they were both laughing and having a great time together. The weather was perfect! For the start of the session it was overcast (a photographers dream) then after we left Old Town and went to a nearby park, the sun came out for sunset. Right when the sun came out it was a beautiful amber, then it turned the sky red. If all photography days could be like this (and all couples for that matter) my job would be so easy. So Courtney and Ryan, thanks again for having so much fun with the shoot and for just being great to hang out with!
