I promised myself three years ago that I was done assisting. When I moved up to Northern Virginia I met some amazing wedding photographers. I was asked to assist Tracy Timmester a few weekends ago and honestly I didn’t think hard about it at all. I just love her work and personality so I quickly said yes. Tracy shoots with so much passion and determination. It was great seeing someone put well over 100% into the wedding. We are both very fortunate to be in an industry were we both love our jobs! So thank you Tracy for having me along!

What a great wedding. Dani and Adam met in Iraq, which I just find so amazing. They found love in war. They are both still active Marines in which I love! I am married to a veteran Marine so I have a soft spot for people that give service to their country. I understood why Adam put his shoes on before his pants. Adam wins the award for the least amount of creases I have ever seen in wedding attire (and I am including Brides here). It is easy to understand wearing that uniform with so much pride. Even with all Adam’s strength, he teared up when his bride walked down the aisle. It almost had me in tears! And how could he not, Dani is not only a strong, successful, intelligent women but she is also gorgeous! I wish you two the best, and thank you for your service to the country!

Amber & Chris

I just love Amber and Chris. Hanging out with Amber is almost like drinking a very large Mocha-Frapachino (my fav) you always feel energized and just happy. Let me explain with a story. I had a wedding a few months ago that lasted until 1am, which I got to my house at 2am. When I got home I got a call from a friend that was really upset about a hard breakup. I was up until 5am with her. Let’s just say I was drained emotionally and physically from the 12 hours of shooting the day before as well as the long night, I was really not looking forward to a morning bridal session. I drove out to meet Amber and within a few minutes of just being around her my mood had change. By the time the shoot was over I was wide awake, energetic and just very happy. I realized that it was because of how awesome Amber is. She is passionate about everything, really enjoys just every moment in life. She always has many stories to tell with a laugh and a big smile. I have a lot of respect for her, I was so happy that she choose me to be there for her amazing wedding.

The wedding day started pretty early for me. A couple shots on the golf course with the guys (in which I did almost get hit by a really bad drive), then off to Amber’s “Hat’s and Pearls” bridal lunch-in at the Chateau Elen. The ceremony was so perfect, outside as the sun was setting. Amber’s smile and emotions almost too big to be contained. Then the party started. I loved all the small and southern touches and truly did have an awesome time! Oh and a very special thanks to the candy bag, it helped me with my drive the next day up to DC! Seriously though, you two rock and I had a great time!

Tonya & Jahmal
Four Seasons Atlanta
July 25, 2009

I had so much fun at Tonya and Jahmal’s wedding! I remember thinking “there is no way this wedding is going to finish at 1:30am”. It was a small group of mostly married couples. Boy was I wrong. Tonya and Jahmal’s friends were all just so much fun, and having an absolute blast that they were all crazy on the dance floor well into the following day! The reception was hard not to enjoy! The band (Reggie Hines Band) was so unbelievable that Thu and I may have been dancing a bit while taking pictures! Plus they had a midnight banana foster station open up (I LOVE banana foster). With the sugar, band, and awesome coffee station we were definitely living it up. A big shout out to Kiersten Pierce with Gooseberry Creative Events for helping put on this perfect wedding!

Let me get back to Tonya and Jahmal. They are both such wonderful people that I was so happy to be there and see them get married. Jahmal has this smile that is so small but yet so strong. I remember photographing him as Tonya first walked down the aisle. His little smile felt so full of love and happiness, it was a little smile of pure joy. And how could it not be, Tonya is a very successful women, a great mother oh and did I mention that she is just gorgeous! They are so happy, it was awesome to see that much love.

Jacqueline & John
After the wedding….

I love after wedding shoots, and I love hanging out with Jacqueline and John! It was great having as much time as we wanted, and playing around at one of my favorite parks in Atlanta. The evening was filled with tons of laughs, smiles, dancing in an empty field oh and a bit of nausea. Most of my friends know about how imbalanced I am (I fall over all the time with my vertigo spells), but the little metal carousel really tested my limits! I may have even gotten a few playground cedar chips, well everywhere (including my mouth) from rolling around and falling down! Good thing I love the first image!
