Mili & Ryan
St Leo the Great Catholic Church
Regency at Dominion Valley

I had so much fun at Mili and Ryan’s wedding! It was a perfect day! Not only was everyone crazy nice (and tons of fun), but Mili and Ryan are crazy in love. I love how expressive Ryan’s eyes are, he had my favorite moment of the whole wedding. Right when Mili’s dad raised her veil and he saw her clearly for the first time, his eyes looked like they were ready to pop out of his head with excitment. I call it a “wowzers” moment (have a look below)!

This wedding was a photographers dream. We got to play with the couple’s big playful personalities for the pictures, we had tons of photo time in beautiful light on the huge Regency at Dominion Valley golf course, oh ya we also had mustaches. I just love the picture of the bridesmaids and the father of the groom all mustached up (it is my husband’s favorite picture I have ever taken). A big thank you to Jennifer at Dominion Valley, you rock and we loved shooting at your breathtaking venue.

Another big thank you to the talented Debi with Debi Parker Photography for helping me! You truly amazing me with your awesomeness!

Katie & Shawn

Katie and Shawn I liked from the first time I met them. Both chill as can be, always with a smile. They make me so comfortable to be around them, and taking there engagement pictures just felt like a day of hanging out with longtime friends. We had a their 200 pound dog, pizza, converse and lots of laughs, it was a great day. I can’ t wait for the wedding!

Kelly & Don

Friday, July 16th, 2010

When Kelly and Don called and asked about a shoot along the skyline drive of the Shenandoah, I was so excited. It’s sad to say I have never done the drive or been out the the Shenandoah, and I love the outdoors and hiking! So not only was it a good excuse to see this beautiful area, but it was a day of hanging out with two awesome people. I had so much fun! I do think my favorite part was when I was taking the below ring shot. Don says “you should take that fast and we should go get in the car” I asked why and Don says “because of the bears”. There was a mama bear and her cubs walking around behind me as I was taking the picture! That was definitely a first.

Michelle & Chris

Michelle & Chris
Annapolis, Maryland
Podickory Yacht Club
Chartwell Country Club

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Michelle and Chris (aka Stag) and when I think of this wedding is “fun”. Michelle kept saying during our meetings, I want a really fun wedding. I think they had just that. This wedding was beyond fun, one could even say it was a bit crazy. They actually played a game of throw the wedding party at the reception. The flower girls were tossed in the air, then the ring bearers, then next thing I know a group of rather intoxicated men are picking up the bride and tossing her in the air. I have seen a lot in my years of wedding shooting, but this was definitely a first! My wonderful second got one of my favorite shots of the night (of toss the bride), have a look at the last image in this blog and you will see what I mean.

A little more about the wedding. It took place at the Yacht club where Michelle and Chis house their boat. It was beautiful, wind, sails, boats, ocean, and a beautiful bride and groom laughing, smiling and getting married under a big American flag. Thank you two for having me be a part of your big day, and thanks to my wonderful second shooter Astrid.

An engagement in London

Emma & Pete
I am going to start by saying that Emma means the world to me. When I lived in Australia we became close friends, and had some crazy times together. We traveled together in Borneo and now Ireland. Whenever I needed anything Emma was always there. When I was away from my family for the first time for Christmas, Emma had me over and shared her family Christmas with me (we even went the beach in Santa hats and bikinis after opening presents- gotta love Australia). She let me crash in her living room for weeks. Like I said this girl means the world to me. Pete is pretty cool as well ;) He always had a smile and a laugh. When I found out years after I left Sydney that they had started dating, it made me smile. Both great people, with very big hearts. They moved together to London then got engaged. I was very happy to be passing through London a month ago to see them again, it has been over 5 years since I have seen either of them.

This engagement session was beyond words. My friend and travel buddy Tanja got us the major hook up. We got permission to shoot on the top of the Tower Bridge in London. While up there were told that one of the last people with permission to go up there was the Queen herself. It was very cool and very special. We got these amazing views of London from a national icon. So thank you a million times Tanja for rocking! What a great day that none of us will forget!
